So, let's find out about how you can enter our remix competition and win the chance to be featured in Knowledge. "It's nice to be able to boost someone's confidence and give them props in a respected magazine," adds Don John "The Bastard", in a distinctly un-bastard-like tone. "That's what this competition is all about."
Here are the terms and conditions:
- You can use as little or as many of the included parts in your remix as you like.
- The winner is likely to be someone who embellishes the vibe of the original well.
- The remix can be in any style or any genre that is suited to Knowledge.
- AIM your entry to 'kmagremixcomp' or post it on a CD to
Remix Competition,
Knowledge, 1 Trafalgar Mews,
London, E9 5JG, UK
- All entries must be submitted by 31st September 2006.
- The included parts on the cover CD are for use with this remix competition only, not for use within your own music. All parts are subject to copyright.
- The winner will receive a one-page interview in Knowledge plus have their remix featured on the cover CD before 2007.

"I want to wish everyone good luck on the remix," concludes John. "In drum & bass there's a certain standard that has to be met in order for anyone to even look at you, which I believe encourages people to formulate and discourages them from being creative. I listen to so much different music that I can honestly say I will judge this competition fairly. I want to encourage people to just do what comes naturally."
And that's what making 'Beatz R My Armour' was all about. "Yeah," John finalises. "You're right. If you have as much fun remixing this as I did making it, you're sure to catch my ear."
