The Benefits of A Good Knowledge of Insurance PoliciesHow many of us just purchase herbs and then file it away in a folder without checking through the terms and conditions of the policy? I would imagine that would be most of us then! When you sit down and consider the amount of money we actually spend on some policies, this can actually transpire to be a very foolish thing. You may have secured a policy at a bargain basement price and may not realise that some of the elements that you had thought were covered automatically, may not be. It’s like everything else in life, you only tend to get what you pay for. It’s exactly the same with insurance; if you’ve managed to get a really good price - there is usually a good reason behind it. With all of this in mind, it is absolutely imperative that you verify the details and small print of the policy as soon as you are sent the information. Find time to sit down and go through the details with a fine tooth comb and make sure you do this as soon after you receive the documentation as you possibly can. It is the law that you must be furnished with a 14 day cooling off period, if you wish to go ahead and cancel; so do take advantage of this time. Most large insurance companies should set out the details of your policy clearly enough; however, be mindful of some other companies and double check the small print to ensure it is everything you had initially expected. If you are not happy with the policy, you have every right to cancel and seek cover from another source. |
